We hired Steve for our wedding on 13th April and he was absolutely fantastic! From the moment we were in touch nothing was too much, from the zoom meeting, a million emails and questions from us and catering to all our rowdy guests on the day. We had told Steve the kind of music we liked and disliked which he stuck to it throughout the evening; we were also able to give him a list of songs we really wanted played and he made sure every single one was. When we couldn't decide on a last song (at the very last minute!) he played both we had mentioned <3 and all requests from our guests were played.

Steve provided lovely lighting for the barn we were in and kept the party going all night and had a great sense of what song to play next to keep people dancing.

If you are looking for a DJ who will make sure your event is personal to you and make sure all your needs are met Steve is you guy.

Retro DJ you were sublime and we cannot thank you enough for making our evening special.

Steve has been an absolute star to speak to, he replied to all my silly questions and he was always so helpful. We where able to have our space a day early and Steve came and set up the afternoon before, he spent time with us planning the evening, that was lovely!

The night didn't all to plan as myself and my husband where talking to much, but Steve just took it all in his stride.

He is a pro, always happy to play new songs and some classics. Everyone loved him.

Steve was absolutely amazing and so understanding when I mentioned my sister having epilepsy. He worked with me when deciding the most appropriate lights and he done a pre display just to be extra cautious.

Lovely set up that complimented our decor.

We contacted Retro DJ looking to find the perfect DJ fit for our wedding and from the start Steve made sure everything was so easy and straightforward and he made the whole process completely stress free for us! He has been incredible, friendly and really took our thoughts and what we wanted for our night into account. Hired Steve for a Disney themed 30th birthday party with a twist. Steve was a pleasure to deal with from day one. He played all the tracks we asked for. The lighting and atmosphere was fantastic throughout the night. The variety of tracks kept everyone on the dancefloor throughout the night and the addition of karaoke went down well with the guests. Brilliant!!! Before my party, Steve explained that his aim is to pick up on the mood of an event and play music that encourages people to dance throughout the evening. He was a total success in doing that! Two of our guests, Elizabeth 7 (one of the youngest) and Nigel 70 (almost the oldest) danced to every track!!! The atmosphere Steve created throughout the evening was brilliant. Elizabeth described the party as the best night of her life - and it certainly ranked near the top for me. Thank you Steve. Steve did our music for our wedding reception on 22/10/2021. He was absolutely fantastic - his efficiency was flawless, he played all of the requested tracks by the bride and groom, and all the requests by guests - which was a lot to keep up with! ​Steve was very professional throughout, his communication was excellent, nothing was too much trouble, you can certainly tell S​teve has been doing this for a long time, he would never let anyone down, we had to cancel the original date due to covid restrictions, however with the help of Steve and Mark ( my caterer) between us we managed to secure the 31st July and it was an amazing night, thank you Steve.

Steve arrived in plenty of time to set up, check out my venue and I must praise Steve for his patience as we held the party in our field here on the farm with limited access to facilities, however Steve took it all in his stride and we all had a great time, Steve played all the music from my play list from 1950 upwards, he also went around all the guests to take their requests, mood lighting as recommended by Steve gave the marquee a lovely vibe, would highly recommend Retro DJ Steve and some of my guests have taken his details, can't thank you enough St​eve for making my party great.

We were left with No DJ with only 3 weeks until our wedding due to the original person booked cancelled on us! My maid of honour found Steve and he was more than happy to help with such a short notice! He seemed so on it and was asking us questions about us as a couple, favourite music etc.

I hired Steve as the DJ for the annual military wives christmas function. Steve was amazing and very accommodating. Booked Retro DJ for my 40th birthday last Friday. It was great. Played requests, played a couple of specific tracks for me as the birthday girl, and even turned the background music down (during food) when one of my older guests had a small whinge �� very professional! Due to the hot weather sometimes he was playing to an empty room. But that was great as we could here the music on the terrace and that totally made the atmosphere. I was very happy. My 40th party meant a lot to me - so was great to see him nail it and get everyone on the dance floor

I contacted Steve for my wife’s 40th Birthday Party - he was friendly and helpful on the phone, so I booked him for the evening. Steve was great throughout, prompt in all correspondence and turned up early to set up in the afternoon. He brought a smart set up, was friendly and approachable on the night and played music and at a volume to suit the time of evening - low background to begin with, entertained the kids earlier on and built the atmosphere as the evening progressed. Steve was the DJ for my daughters 21st birthday party. He arrived super early to set up and had no problems finding the venue. He read the guests very well and always had people on the dance floor. He encouraged requests and played all the tracks my daughter asked for. Fabulous evening had by all, they danced all night the music was fantastic. ALL KILLER NO FILLER! That is how one guest described the superb set played by Steve. Set up was great, efficient and not intrusive. Steve makes sure he understands his audience both before the event and as it is occurring. At no time was the dance floor empty and the cries and stamps for ‘one more song!!’ were reminiscent of being at the end of a performance that you never want to end ! Steve was hired to DJ for a function on an army barracks. And he did not disappoint. He was polite from the first email interaction, ensuring all prices were covered, and that he told us all the different things he had to offer. He set up on the night, and the music was ready to go before guests arrived. We hired Steve from a google search for our Golden Wedding party. He was local so came to see me first to discuss what music we would have. We had a mix of generations from 4 - 87 yrs old. Steve was fantastic, we had light jazz wafting across the garden whilst we had drinks on the lawn. We then had quite a break without any music during supper to allow the deaf to hear conversations! After dinner we had 60s and 70s music and he just got everyone on the floor until the early hours. Recommend him 100%, and great value.

I found Steve by chance when I was searching online, always a bit nervous about doing that sort of thing but absolutely no need to be. Steve always replied quickly which reassured me that he was going to be good before he even showed up on the night. We had a theme of a night at the movies and he catered perfectly for us by playing the majority of songs from the movies. He gauged his audience very well and everyone was up in the dance floor! From start to finish, Steve provided a professional service. Communication throughout was good. Booking and payment systems were simple. He asked for a few of our favourite songs in advance and played them all on the night. He spoke to a lot of the guests as they arrived and included most of their favourites too. Steve "read" the crowd and knew when to include a few "action" songs to keep the dance floor busy. He was happy to finish whenever we said and there was the option to party for longer if we had wanted to.

We are so glad that we booked Steve as our DJ for our combined birthday party, where the ages of the guests were 1 yrs old to 85 years young. He played the music that appealed to all ages so everyone was kept happy. He had very up to date equipment with lovely flashing lights which went all over the room. Most DJ's that we have had in the past seem to just want to talk on their microphone but Steve was very professional and stuck to playing music. Steve played at my 40th birthday party on Saturday and was brilliant! His service in the run-up was excellent as he stayed in touch regularly and replied to emails quickly. He was happy to answer lots of questions and accommodated my music requests perfectly (90s indie). The night was amazing and I got so many positive comments. Steve played every track I requested and the dance floor stayed full all night. Steve also provided uplighters which were great and really made the venue look special. I didn't want the night to end and would have no hesitiation in recommending Steve. I'd definitely book him again for future events!

Steve from Retro DJ played at our wedding at Saunton Sands. From 7pm until all hours in the morning he played great music continuously that kept the dance floor full. His music was spot on with favourite tunes from the 80's, 90's and current hits (rock & roll and dance). I danced pretty much the whole 7 hours as the music was that good - missing out on the bacon baps and wedding cake!!! Fully recommend Steve for those planning a wedding - his prices are very reasonable and he delivered above and beyond what was expected. Wish we could do it all again! Steve was quick to respond to our initial enquiry with a very comprehensive email. He made sure he knew what music we wanted for my 60th birthday party last night. We had so much fun and that was due to a large extent to the music Steve was playing. The dance floor was full for most of the evening and everyone was commenting on how good the DJ was. I hired steve (Retro DJ) for my London Marathon Charity night at the Foresters Melksham. The event was in aid of Dorothy House Hospice. I say hired but he very kindly donated his servtices for just expenses. I cant thank him enough. The event raised £450. Steve provided music from the 40s, 50s and 60s at my Rotary President's Dinner. His playlist was wonderful - oldies singing along to Mario Lanza during dinner and bopping to Red River Rock later on. On Saturday 24 March we had a wedding vow renewal party in Calne. There were about 75 of us ranging in age from 8 to 88. Without exception, every single person danced, and it was non-stop dancing from begining to end. Steve was great, responding to requests, but putting others in there, which all kept the party flowing. We all had a fantastic time, and were not ready to pack up at 23:30 or 00:00 and could have gone on for another few hours at least. Top evening.

I contacted Steve at RetroDJ concerning my daughter's 40th bithday party on Saturday 26th November and right from the beginning it was apparent that we were using the services of a true proffesional. Steve gave us assistance in putting together a program of music that would suit the 100+ people attending and he also spent some time helping to provide a special tribute to my daughter by merging pieces of music etc. On the day he arrived early enough to ensure that everything was in place well before the guests arrived and the evening itself was a resounding success mainly because the music mix was right. What more can I say other than THANKYOU! The DJ has the ability to make or break functions and with this function being our wedding (3rd September 2011 @ Seend Cleeve House) it was even more important for us to get it right! Cleeve House felt enough trust to advise us to book you and boy were they correct! We knew from the 1st instance of when you visited us and asked questions about our day that we were in good hands. I have had so many quests and family members wish to pass on messages about the last song - which will go down as a showstopper! The way in which the dancefloor was full and how you responded to peoples requests and banter was amazing. Hi I hired RetroDJ for my Daughter's 21st birthday party and would like to say that Steve and Terry were terrific, steve was in contact with me leading up to the day and was very helpful even contacted the venue to discuss the set up. They had all the music that was requested and we all had a really good time I even had a song on the karaoke "thanks steve for the backing singing"so much fun was had !!! thank you for looking after us in such a friendly and proffessional manner.....if your looking for a dj look no further !!!!!!!!!great value Cheers Steve

Hi we rebooked retro dj to entertain us all again at our party on November 6th 2010 as we had booked them as above on the 4th sept 2010 and found retro dj to be fantastic. Yet again they delivered a fantastic evening to all that attented and went out of thier way to accomodate all guest with thier requests I would highly recommend hat if you are planning an event that you book retro dj because you will not be dissapointed and will certainly use them again. thanks once again for everything retro looking forward to seeing you again in May at the renewal of my wedding vows because I know it will be a fantastic evening 100%

This dico was the best possible for my 60th birthday as everything I asked for was played .They took a lot of trouble to deal with requests. I thouroughly recommend them to anyone wanting to dance the night away !!

Retro DJ did the music for our wedding fayre a few weeks ago.They were brilliant! They were very happy to play the genre of music we wanted from their extensive repertoire of music. They were all too happy to help MC the fashion show in their own comedic fashion. They are lovely people and we are looking forward to working with them lots in the future.

Hi, We got married on the 26th June 2010. We weren't going to have a DJ for our evening reception but my husbands bestman put us in touch with Steve.. He was very very friendly, & incredibly keen to meet our specific needs for our special day.. We spoke on the phone where he asked us all our favourite music & went into great detail about his equipment and what the potential of all the numerous pieces of kit were. As it happened we had minimal space to work with & needed literally the bear minimum to meet the specification of our venue. Steve was given alot of rules to work within which he and Terry carried out like true professionals.. We had the BEST day and danced the whole night.. Regardless of the blistering heat!!! Oh what a night.. Thanks guys, would highly recommend you to anyone needing a DJ XXX

hi we hired this disco for a function on 4/9/10 from the onset of contacting steve to enquire for a booking he was very efficient and so helpful he went out of his way to obtain songs for us to make our evening special . Steve contacted the venue we were having and dealt with them direct and made my job a lot easier , He arrived with Terry and set everything up he went out of his way above and beyond to accomodate peoples requests we had karaoke too and out of there pockets bought prizes to hand out for the best female , male and child singers all in all they made our night without them it would not have been as great and will certainly be using them again in the very near future. thank you so so much Steve and terry for everything you did x

we hired RETRO DJ for our sister's 21st birthday party on the 10th dec. steve and terry were fantastic! they were very helpful, steve was in contact with us right up till the evening itself. they did all they could to make sure all the music requested was played and more than happy to carry out any special requests. they kept the younger ones happy by handing out prizes for the best dancers and my sister also got a little something for her birthday too, they are both lovely and a good laugh.all in all they did a fab job and we had a great time with you guys! we will definatly be using you in the future and will be highly recomending you to our friend. thanks again for a great nite guys!!xx
